At our heart, we are an educational program that firmly believes that education is the key to a brighter future. Our programs are designed to enhance the lives of our students and encourage them to go to school, stay in school, dream big.
THE EDUCATION PROGRAM
Our education program is designed to support students who are struggling academically by providing them with reading writing and math classes. We also have English and computer classes, as well as extracurricular activities such as music,. All classes are taught by experienced and qualified teachers who are experts in their respective fields. Students who attend VKEP have an advantage as none of the classes offered are taught in public schools.
English
We provide English classes tailored for students in grades 2-12, aiming to empower them with the skills and knowledge necessary for better job opportunities in Puerto Vallarta. Our curriculum focuses on language acquisition and communication skills, and by creating an environment that fosters inclusion, creativity, and critical thinking, we make sure that English will open doors to a brighter future for every student.
Computer
We offer computer classes designed to bridge the digital divide for our students in grades 2-12, who currently face the challenge of lacking access to computers both at home and school. This program equips them with essential digital skills crucial for academic success and future job opportunities. By providing hands-on training and promoting a technology-rich learning environment, we aim to empower our students to navigate the digital landscape confidently and prepare them for a tech-enabled future.
mathematics
Empowering students to conquer math challenges, our program offers targeted support in foundational areas such as multiplication tables, division, and fractions. Tailored for students from 1st to 6th grade, we reinforce key concepts to build confidence and proficiency in mathematics.
Music
Music embodies culture, and our program is a powerful tool for instilling important values in our students. Through the exploration of music, participants cultivate attributes such as responsibility, perseverance, critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork. This comprehensive approach not only enriches their musical abilities but also nurtures well-rounded individuals ready to face the challenges of the future with confidence and resilience, and they get to play beautiful music.
Spanish Intervention
"Our Spanish Intervention Program is dedicated to supporting students in grades 1-6 who face challenges in reading and math, providing crucial assistance to overcome disadvantages. Through targeted interventions, we strive to empower these students with the skills and confidence they need to excel academically, ensuring a more equitable and promising educational journey."
The Clubs
Book Club
The book club teaches the students who are struggling with basic reading and writing skills in a way that is more engaging and appealing to younger students. We also have a formal reading club where students read and enact the stories to bring them to life, making reading enjoyable and fun.
Empowerment Club
This is a Rotary Club initiative. We are extremely proud of this program and its impact. We are committed to continuing this initiative in Volcanes, to ensure that many more girls understand their worth and the value of education.
Volcanes Sports Club
We had to have sports! We have a soccer league with 17 teams with 10 to 12 players per team. The best part is that in Volcanes we have a professional soccer player as their coach! We also have basketball and volleyball programs coached by volunteers.
